Registration is now open for the 2012 Springtime Bop to benefit Cancer Support Community Atlanta! This inaugural event is a quick, fun springtime race through scenic Sandy Springs and features something for everyone, regardless of your fitness level. Set on a beautiful, scenic course, the day will feature three different races: A 5K, a one mile run/walk, and a hilarious Tot Trot for the little ones. Music along the race route will keep you bopping, the kids will enjoy free childrens’ activities and we’ll have catered goodies for the whole family.

Humor, Heart, & Hope: Laughter Through the Cancer Journey
Join us for a laughter-filled morning as we work together to bring levity, laughter and humor with an empowering message to people touched by cancer. Led by comedian Michael Pritchard, a beloved public speaker on humor who has been featured in Time magazine and profiled on The Today Show, The Tonight Show, and CBS Sunday Morning, the program will include interactive activities and inspirational insight on ways to see humor in even the most challenging of situations. Also on hand will be Joel Goodman, Ed.D., founder of the HUMOR project and recipient of the International Lifetime of Laughter Achievement Award, to engage the crowd in discussion and laughter about the power of humor. A film crew will be on hand from Heartland Media to capture the magic of the day for an upcoming documentary about this special workshop. Saturday, March 17 at the Atlanta Perimeter Hotel & Suites (formerly the W Hotel) from 9 am-12 pm. Light refreshments will be served and parking is free.
On March 11th, WSB-TV featured The Humor Project in People 2 People.
To RSVP for this free event, please call the Cancer Support Community Atlanta at 404-843-1880.

Preparing to Make a Treatment Decision at Your Next Doctor’s Visit? We can help!
CSC Atlanta offers a free service, called Open to Options that will help you prepare for your next doctor’s visit during which you plan to discuss treatment options. In a one-on-one conversation, with an “Open to Options” specialist, we’ll help you sort through any questions you may have about your various treatment options. We’ll write down and organize your questions in a way that will help you guide the discussion during your next appointment. Together with your doctor, you can then decide which treatment option is best for you. You’ll be able to walk into the doctor’s office feeling more prepared and self-confident with your personal list of questions in hand. Open to Options is a free service for anyone with any type of cancer who is considering a treatment-related decision.
For more information or to schedule an appointment for Open to Options, please contact Rachel Newby at 404.843.1880 ext.15 or Rachel@CSCAtlanta.org.
